 NEVER SAY SURRENDER

You Can’t Win CD

$6-10 ppd sliding scale

A refreshing dose of folk punk with a very slight country tinge at times.  Catchy acoustic and electric music,  poetic lyrics that make you wanna hit the road and a dash of anarchist insight all linger throughout this release.    If Johnny Hobo and Erik Peterson grew up in a punk house maintained by Bob Dylan on some lone country road and all three got together every sunset to play music on their front porch for the ghost of Woody Guthrie it would most likely sound like this.    Overall you get a collection of songs that document that romantic misery that anyone who ever spent time on the road will relate to.

PAULIE THINK

DUNNY SMASH CD

$6-10 ppd sliding scale

Paulie’s second album released through us Bandits embraces more of his political side.  Conscious lyrics dealing with topics that range from the greed inherent to the capitalist system, the surveillance of society to the involvement of the government in this country’s drug trade .  But he also keeps his sense of humor on this one with songs about the weirdos and freaks you run into on public transportation and others about wanting to be abducted by aliens.
Elements of Paulie’s punk rock past shine through with his sing along chorus’s and occasional background screaming while musically you get a mix of feel good beats and others with a slightly more electronic feel.  All of which will have you bopping your head the whole time.  Another great release from a long time DIY emcee who’s been putting in effort in the underground hip hop community for years!

The Mythology Of ICEBOX

EYENINE
Eyenine has engaged in battle since the day he could take up arms.  Banished from his home for his increasingly feral ways, he has been wandering the North East countryside aimlessly for years, his trail marked by the bodies of broken adversaries.  A growing legacy of blood and bone has left him unfulfilled however, and he heads to the mountains, hoping to find a new path…
PAULIE THINK
Meditating near a frozen lake when Eyenine happens across him, Paulie Think unfolds himself from his Flying Crow pose and evaluates his new aquaintance, noting the wild, unkempt mane and bloodstained clothes.  He intuitively knows the score.
“Yah Dunny, you look like you might be in need of a shave, or a shower, or a lifestyle change der.”
Think was once a fighter as well, taking out suckas’ in Old Chicago, but since The Event has devoted more time to inner studies, seeking to subdue the demons from his troubled past.  He holds out his hand in greeting, and explains to Eyenine that he knows of a particular mission that might hold both intrigue and reward…
P.T. BURNEM
P.T. Burnem paces restlessly in his dimly lit lab, surrounded by blinking diodes, switches and sounds.  He is just putting the finishing touches on his latest piece of tech, when his screen flashes the pattern signalling an incoming call.  Think’s face appears, framed by a familiar Chinese script and dragon pattern.
“Where the hell did you find a Chinatown out in the mountains?!?”
“Not sure dun dada.  They just seem to always be around whenever I need ‘em.  Listen, about that mission…”
“Yeah, it’s on.  Time is running short, but Brickface said to pick him up off the side of 95, and he’d get us to Austin in time for the big event.”
“Good work dunny, and the Bandits said they’d lend a hand with the logistics.  Fire up the Lumina and lets get gone.  Stop by Memphis on the way through…”
Squinting in the newly dawning sun, Burnem brushes the snow from the cracked windshield of his midnight blue ’97 Lumina.
“Time for another adventure love” he says, sliding into the drivers seat.  Glimpsing into the rear view mirror, he adjusts his goggles, turns the key, and is off…ENINE

SOLE

NUCLEAR WINTER VOLUME 2 CD

$5-$10 sliding scale

Sole’s second foray into “rap as journalism” is a diary of madness.  This mixtape is folk rap in its truest sense…applying the Situationist “detournment” concept of “turning expressions of the capitalist system against itself” to hip hop by repurposing mainstream rap songs for anarchistic ends.
His rap delivery flows as a stream-of-consciousness to the point of eschewing rhyming altogether at times (a style that has brought Sole much recognition in the underground/DIY hop hop community.)  Add this style to his aggressive political commentary and a list of amazing guest (such as Ceschi, Kool A.D. from Das Racist, Time, K-The-I??? and Bluebird) and you have a rather bold hip hop album to make your mind question the capitalist system while your speakers bounce .

PRETEND YOU’RE HAPPY

THE GREAT JOYFUL REBELLION CD

$6-$10 ppd sliding scale

The second album by Pretend You’re Happy, The Great Joyful Rebellion is a roaring tale of an epic battle.  It swells with an unfolding story, encompassing harsh guitar grindings and at times soft melodic voices. This album rises and falls like a slumbering beast caught in the wake of dreams and nightmares alike. Whether this is the story of life, creation, or the psychic future – one or many will find themselves caught in the midst of dinosaurs and the sonnets of horns.

RAMSHACKLE GLORY

Live The Dream CD/Poster

$8-$10 sliding scale (but you can pay only $6 if ya want)

The former front man of Johnny Hobo & the Freight Trains and Wingnut Dishwasher’s Union spent about a year in the desert & emerged with a new hope & a bunch of new friends who were holding instruments like a banjo, a violin, a  saw & an accordion (to mention a few.) Ramshackle Glory is a combination of all these things more.  Their first full length offers a much fuller sound than any of the past bands mentioned above.  The band is more folky in general with punk thrown in (& even some occasional beat boxing in the back round.)  Lyrically it is a story about overcoming addiction, figuring out radical political & personal beliefs, trying to stay sane during it all & the friends that are there along the way (getting hurt & helping out.)  A must for anyone who has followed Pat’s music over the years but also a good place to start if his work is new to you.

You can just send $6ppd for the cd if you’re broke.  We don’t mind at all.  But if you send all $10 we”ll through in 2 posters (one is the same as the cover above the other is a WDU poster you can see below.)

PAULIE THINK

Feel This cd

$6-$10 ppd. sliding scale

One of the best underground hip hop albums of 2010!  On Feel This, Paulie Think mixes his conscious lyrical style with his sense of humor over feel good, crunk and trip hop beats.  His respect for the old school comes through often even while he pushes his hip hop style forword.  Songs about china town, escaping da pigs, taken out suckas’, black holes, pinball and more!  Features guest rappers PT Burnem, Sleep of old dominion, Chi-Ill and more. Keep your eyes open for the video of Pocket Full of Quaters out late september.

WINGNUT DISHWASHER’S UNION

Burn the earth, leave it behind CD

$6-$20 ppd. sliding scale

After many years of misery, addiction, and nihilism Johnny Hobo & The Freight Trains finally burned to the ground. Now out of the ashes rises Wingnut Dishwasher’s Union. While Johnny Hobo songs made people want to shoot dope, WDU songs just might make you want to shoot a capitalist.
On this album WDU performs most of the songs as a full on, electric punk band (including members of Endless Mike & The Beagle Club). There are still many moments of raw acoustic feeling to be found, while the new electric sound enhances instead of replacing what is already there, by co-existing side by side with singer Pat The Bunny and his bloody guitar strumming.
Overall the lyrics offer hope and a desire for social change with Diy Anarchist politics woven into the entire album. Pat The Bunny uses words like “Anarchy” and “Freedom” and actually knows what he’s talking about.  This is gutter rock at its finest!

MICHAEL JORDAN TOUCHDOWN PASS:

cash, money, etc. cd

$6-$10 ppd. sliding scale

Biting sarcasm with a poetic cry for escape is combined with catchy as fuck poppy songs to bring you cash, money, etc. An album that will help you drop out or at least realize how stupid everything around you really is. Imagine if the weakerthans, built to spill and bright eyes all dropped out of high-school, went to a southern Vermont wingnut party and woke up with a hangover and an 11 track recording the next day and you’d have a good idea of what to expect from MJTDP. this cd was co-released with our friends at:
www.plan-itx.com

GHOST MICE :

live @ the nest cd-r

$5-$10 ppd. sliding scale

10 tracks by ghost mice plus some extra bonus stuff all recorded live in Bridgeport CT. at a Bandit potluck show in an old factory in early 2006. Ghost Mice offer fun and heart felt traditional folk (punk) songs. Vocals, guitar, violin, ukulele and a bunch of foot stomping kids singing along. Hand colored stars on each cover-no two alike.

MC HOMELESS :

Trapped Under an Ohio Sky – cd

$6-$10 ppd. sliding scale

The first time we heard MC Homeless perform it was to a small crowd in a storage garage that he backed a car into and played his beats through a sound system in its trunk. It was a good time and since then Homeless has only gotten better. We are very excited to offer his cd as our first hip hop release. Homeless dishes out 13 tracks of social, political and personal rhymes backed by tripped out hip hop with a trace of crunk beats. Forget that shit on the radio- here you’ll get a talented and boldly unique underground hip hop album from an up and coming DIY anarchist emcee. What more can you ask for?   With great color cover art and guests appearances by emcees  and producers such as Ceschi, Enigmick, Optiks, DJ Shortrock, Mic Ra and more.

PRETEND YOU’RE HAPPY:

 S/T cd

$6-$10 ppd. sliding scale

With 13 people participating on this recording Pretend You’re Happy is a DIY orchestra of sorts-offering a bold and unique sound.  When listening to this album the term “alternative” (in its rawest and truest form)comes to mind, meaning this album is a true alternative to what is out there today.
Influences range from folk & sludge-metal to jazz & hardcore to rock & classical and beyond. The music itself maintains a steady stream of making sense with itself, while shifting between thickly layered to sparse, melodic to cacauphonic while combining strong & lullaby-esque vocals and harmonies.  At times this album is a subtle soundtrack to this world and at others it is a crazy shattering of sounds blasting you into the next world-DON’T BE LEFT BEHIND, get your own copy now!
